What is Personal Injury Protection, also known as, No-Fault Insurance?
Personal Injury Protection’ or PIP insurance coverage is intended to provide you with immediate medical and/or lost wage coverage as a result of a motor vehicle collision regardless of who is at fault, hence the name ‘No Fault Insurance.” In Florida, all licensed motorists are required to maintain the minimum personal injury protection coverage in the amount of $10,000.00. To be eligible to receive PIP benefits, you must seek medical treatment for your injuries within 14 days from the date of the accident. In the unfortunate event of death claim, PIP pays out $5,000.00 in death benefits.
