The death of thirty year old Lattia Baumeister of IL is shocking because the Florida Board of Medicine revoked Dr. Osakatukei “Osak” Omulepu’s medical license a few short weeks ago. This week, The First District Court of Appeals denied the Florida Department of Health’s request to restrict Omulepu from performing plastic surgeries during Omulepu’s appeal on the same day Lattia Baumeister died from surgical complications during a Brazilian butt lift procedure by Omulepu. Lattia was rushed from Seduction by Jardon Medical Center for plastic surgery to Kendall Regional Medical Center where she died. Omuelpu was performing surgeries at Seduction without hospital or staff privileges in violation of Florida law. In January, The Beregovich Law Firm sued Omulepu on behalf of another of Omuelpu’s former patients, Rosmery Diaz, for medical malpractice, violations of Florida financial responsibility statute, and fraud. Diaz alleges that Omulepu told her that he was a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prior to her two botched surgeries with Omuelpu. While Omulepu is not board certified in plastic surgery, The Beregovich Law Firm has also sued the surgery centers where Diaz had her surgeries, as well as, the surgery center’s owners. Andres Beregovich, Diaz’ lawyer, believes that allowing Omulepu to continue to perform surgery without restriction “is causing great public harm.” Read more about this topic and Beregovich in the Miami Herald by clicking here.
